ADI determined the energy savings of two different energy reduction devices for the supermarket refrigeration systems and anti-sweat heater controls for the display cases throughout the stores.

Overall value: less than $1 million

Shaw’s Supermarket Refrigeration Project

ADI evaluated the energy reduction of a two different products that control the evaporator fans and free-cooling systems for the refrigeration cases for a variety of Shaw's supermarkets.  It was determined that the due to the air stratification inside the freezer space that the energy savings would be negligible and that the operations would need to change at each site.

Additionally it was determined that the free-cooling system of one vendors design could possibly lead to possible product contamination. ADI redesigned a different system for free-cooling that would be useful in areas over 6800 heating degree days.
