Phase 1-Lighting Project

Polartec, LLC partnered with ADI to develop and implement a comprehensive energy program aimed at energy savings and reducing its carbon footprint. Under ADI’s “See No CO2 Program”™, ADI evaluated over 100 energy conservation and Combined Heat and Power measures at the Malden Mills facility in Lawrence, Massachusetts. ADI developed a “short list” of measures that have noteworthy economic and operational impact on the facility.

During this phase of the partnership, ADI designed and installed new high-performance fluorescent fixtures, along with occupancy controls to conserve power during off-peak or other prescribed hours. Polartec, LLC is on target to save more than $280,000 in electric costs. The lighting project also reduces the facility’s carbon footprint, which aligns with Polartec, LLC’s corporate Eco-Engineering program. The annual electric savings of 2,872,600 kWh translate to 1,258 tons of carbon dioxide reduction. This is equivalent to planting 43,108 acres of trees.

ADI’s second phase HVAC and compressed aid projects are currently under construction

Which will save over $500,000.
